He was the winner of Failaka Award for Best Contribution to Growth & Development of Islamic Funds (2006), Deloitte/IIIF Award (Special Contribution to Islamic Finance (2005), CERT Award for Excellence in Islamic Finance (2004), and Sh. Mohammad Rashid Bin Makhtoum Award for Innovation in Islamic Finance (2003). His background is investment and commercial banking, contributing to media, including Editor of Islamic Banker (UK), taught at NYU's School of Professional Studies (Privatization & Economic Reform), Dow Jones University of Principles of Islamic Investing, taught at Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (Islamic Indexes & Funds), and he is the Chairman of the Islamic Finance Forum in Dubai, UAE.
