Entertainment Lineup Announced for the Wellness Community’s 18th Annual Holiday Homes Tour

Westlake Village, CA, November 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura has announced the lineup of entertainers who will perform for visitors on the 18th Annual Holiday Homes Tour. The event is the organization’s largest fundraiser, with proceeds funding free programs of support, education and hope for people fighting cancer and for their families. The self-guided tour of four Conejo Valley homes will take place from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6. Tickets are $30 ($35 at the door). Agoura Hills Harmony Chorus
The Agoura Hills Harmony Chorus (AHH!) is dedicated to enhancing the appreciation of barbershop music through education and performance, and enriching the variety of the artistic life of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties. With artistic choreography and thrilling, tight harmony, the AHH! Chorus always leaves its audiences cheering for more.

Victorian Carolers
Holiday Homes Tour visitors will be treated to the festive music of the Victorian Carolers of Shepherd of the Hills Church of Porter Ranch. The Victorian Carolers delight audiences with melodious holiday tunes that transport them to the days of Charles Dickens. The tall hats, bonnets and hoop shirts that make up their unique costumes conjure the warmth and festivity of Dickens holiday stories.

The Trinity Ringers Hand Bell Chorus
The Trinity Ringers English hand bell ensemble of Westlake Lutheran Church has been performing for six years. Each of the eight musicians is a community volunteer representing varied professional backgrounds from education to music to real estate. Their recent appearances include University Village, the Cerebral Palsy Home, and “No Room at the Inn ” at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church.

Extra! Extra!
This fun foursome came together in 1999 to share in their appreciation and love of singing a cappella style music in a fun and loving way. The quartet has performed at the Holiday Homes Tour for the past nine years. Each member of the quartet has family and loved ones who are cancer survivors, so they value The Wellness Community’s mission and feel strongly that sharing their music contributes to the cause.

Dr. Ted Lucas, Pianist

Dr. Ted Lucas received his BA and MA degrees in music from San Diego State University, and has a Doctorate in Music from the University of Illinois. A composer, violinist, and pianist, Dr. Lucas has been Music Department Chairman at Beloit College in Wisconsin, Dean of Fine Arts at Southwestern University in Texas, Director of the School of Music and Dance at San Jose State University, and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at CSU Channel Islands. He is now serving as the Special Assistant to the Executive Vice Chancellor in the Office of the Chancellor of the California State University System.

Susan Huff, Pianist

Susan Huff has performed for the Holiday Homes Tour for the last 12 years. She started playing piano at age 4 and received a bachelor’s degree and did graduate degree work in music at West Mount College in Santa Barbara. She currently performs professionally at restaurants, parties and weddings. She also enjoys performing for convalescent hospitals, assisted living facilities and memory care facilities.

Emma Levine, Pianist
Emma Levine is studying music at Cal Poly State University with a concentration is piano performance. She has been playing piano since age five 5 and will complete her undergraduate studies next year with plans to pursue graduate studies in musicology. She grew up in Oak Park and has studied piano with Marsha Lenoff for 13 years.

Founded in 1982, The Wellness Community is an international non-profit organization dedicated to providing free support, education and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones. In July 2009, The Wellness Community and Gilda’s Club joined forces to become the largest provider of cancer support worldwide.
