Veteran Blues Singer Chris Whynaugt Releases Christmas Tune

Veteran blues singer Chris Whynaugt releases "Santa's Got The Blues" on Bad Daddy Records. Available on Amazon, eMusic, iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster and other online music outlets.

Newport Beach, CA, November 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Santa might be singing the blues this Christmas, but the economy is not the inspiration for Chris Whynaught's new release on Bad Daddy Records entitled "Santa's Got The Blues."

"Actually, I wrote it after I lost a gig as a singing Santa," said Whynaught. "The lyrics are tongue-in-cheek." He describes the lyrics in "Santa's Got The Blues" as "the way Santa would feel if he were a blues singer."

The tune showcases his powerful voice with its unmistakable growl and his robust tenor sax playing. He swings the sax with a rich tone and imagination, with influences from his sax-wielding heroes -- Lester Young, Dexter Gordon and Wilton Felder.

Best known for his live performances with Mike Morgan and the Crawl, in addition to his vocals and sax playing on the band's 1996 album Looky Here, Whynaught ventured out on his own in 1999 with his first solo CD, Heard Him On The Radio, a collection of songs about love and the hard life. It had a distinct R&B influence, but remained rooted in the blues. Whynaught has been in hiatus from music for nearly a decade. He has now emerged better and stronger than ever with the release of "Santa's Got The Blues".

The digital release of "Santa's Got The Blues" is available on Amazon, eMusic, iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster and other online music outlets.
