)-- This Friday Cornelius Nursery, a Calloway’s Nursery store located at 2233 S. Voss Road in Houston, will re-open its doors for business after being completely destroyed by fire in July of 2008.
Customers can come back to a newly built store and see some familiar faces as Calloway’s and Cornelius Nursery will bring its original Voss Road employees back to that location. During opening weekend, several activities have been planned including free pictures with Santa Claus, free arts and crafts activities for children and hourly drawings for products and gift cards. Calloway’s Nursery, the parent company of Cornelius Nursery, began planning to rebuild that location shortly after the fire. Nearly 16 months later, the company will re-open the doors for business to kick off the Christmas holiday shopping season.
“We were shocked and devastated by the fire that destroyed the oldest store in the Calloway’s/Cornelius family; however, we were extremely grateful that no one was injured and that we were able to rebuild – bigger and better!
