Retired NFL Pro Bowler La’Roi Glover is Honored for His Past While Making Strides Toward a New Future

New Orleans, LA, November 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The New Orleans Saints will add six time NFL Pro Bowler La’Roi Glover to their Hall of Honor during a pre-game ceremony on Monday, November 30th.

The Hall of Honor was created by Saints owner Tom Benson in 2004 as a way for the team to honor former players in a place that the current players will see every day. The hall outside of the team locker in the Saints' training facility in Metairie is lined with action photos of 20 of the greatest players in club history, as well as one coach and one executive.

Glover played for several teams throughout his professional career and achieved many personal and league’s best honors, including the most sacks in a single season. Among the awards, one of his greatest accomplishments was receiving the New Orleans Saints’ 2000 MVP Defensive Award and leading the Saints to an NFC West title.

Glover retired earlier this year after a record setting career in the NFL. But Glover, who is interested in broadcasting, has no plans to slow down. He recently took the GRE and will be starting San Diego State University’s Sports Business Management Master’s Program in January 2010.

“I still love the game with the same passion I had as a young player in high school, so I plan to always be attached to it in some way, whether commentating, working in the front office, or scouting. But who knows what opportunities await in the next chapter of my life,” Glover said

La’Roi is also well known for his ever increasing involvement in the community, from the La'Roi Glover Foundation scholarship program to the free football camps he hosts with the Martin Bayless Foundation.

While the “Big Glove” may have hung up his cleats he’s still a big hit with the fans.
