)-- Joshua Barber, painter of modern icons, joins a group of international artists exhibiting work in the Bristol "Advent" show.
The "Advent" exhibitors are ten international artists represented by Tunnadine Fine Art and Art-el. The exhibit showcases emerging artists who present an aesthetic of visually challenging work, ranging from classic figurative portraiture to the grimy and still developing genre of the street.
The exhibit will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, the 4th of December, at the 2° Degrees Gallery, a new creative space situated in Montpelier, in the heart of Bristol’s creative quarter. It will be up from December 5th - 20th.
About Joshua Barber
Barber has shown pieces in the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts’ “Art After Hours” and has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, London, Bristol and in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia.
Barber paints moments – the microcosms of memory that seem so trivial but over time, resound. “Just as ancient icons sought to solidify the eternal, my icons capture the briefest of human encounters,” Barber says. “Basically, I’m interested in the good bits.”
