Digital Distributor RouteNote Releases New Music Upload Tool: Streamlines Music Distribution

Digital Distributor RouteNote has released a new desktop based upload tool, making the process of getting music online and selling in major digital retailers easy and accessible for independent artists.

Truro, United Kingdom, December 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The process of getting music online and selling in the digital market can be complicated, and to combat this problem, RouteNote has designed a widget that you can download to your computer that guides you through the process of uploading music for digital distribution. The program will collate the files, metadata and images that are necessary to get your music onto iTunes, Spotify, Emusic, Amazon MP3 and numerous other stores, and when you’re ready, upload the files in the background.

The tool is desktop based rather browser based, and available for all common operating systems (mac and PC), and it’s self updating so you’ll never get software compatibility problems, as you might if you were using an old browser to read a web page. This means no more lost info from crashed browser sessions, no babysitting uploads for hours, no confusion over file formats or picture sizes, just a simple, quick step by step process. The upload tool will save the information that you put into it as you go, so that you can leave and come back to a release halfway through without losing any of the work you’ve put in entering information and files if you don’t have all the components to hand, or the doorbell rings.

The tool has been streamlined for minimal repetition of data entry; so you don’t need to repeat the album or artist name for each track. Multiple uploads can be queued and sent in batches overnight, or during your computer’s idle time, so that you’re not suffering from a slow connection while multiple files are uploaded. The program eliminates the need for stressful, lengthy online sessions, as you don’t need to browse lots of pages and queue lots of files separately, just one stable upload is necessary when you complete each release in the offline program.

RouteNote launched their digital music distribution service in 2008, and have grown steadily since then, and is now the distributor of choice for more than 1,700 independent artists round the world.
