Mouth to Mouth Goes South by Southwest via El Paso for HDNet

San Francisco, CA, October 10, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Mouth to Mouth -- the incandescent San Francisco Bay Area rock band -- took the Austin, Texas music conference South by Southwest (SXSW) by storm this spring after a wild side trip to El Paso, Texas, with digital cameras documenting the entire ten-day odyssey.

In addition to raising the roof with a radiant set during a SXSW showcase at a jam-packed Sixth Street nightclub, Mouth to Mouth’s performance was also captured on video as part of Budweiser Beer’s “True Music” series on entrepreneur Mark Cuban’s HDNet TV channel. The trip, including the detour to El Paso, was filmed in its entirety, and the footage is being edited for imminent release through various new media outlets.

Singer Jonny Scullion, lead guitarist Alex Lasner, bass player/keyboardist Scott Funkhouser, and drummer Andrew Keating came together in the summer of 2004 to form Mouth to Mouth. These four talented young musicians fuse the swagger and pop sensibility of classic rock and roll with the slashing energy of punk. They are currently recording an album at Oakland’s Studio 880 with producer/engineer John Lucasey.

Prior to entering the studio, the band road-tested its repertoire at the SXSW gig -- and at an impromptu show during the El Paso detour.

“Austin was amazing,” said Scullion. “The crowd reaction was tremendous. And right after the show, the numbers at our MySpace webpage jumped up by 1000 fans.”

But the band was even more thrilled by the response to their guerilla show at an El Paso bar. “It was sort of a warm-up for South by Southwest,” Scullion explained.

“We were passing through El Paso, and stopped off at a bar next to an army base. We weren’t booked, but we asked the bar manager if we could set up and rock out.

“Everyone was into it. The guys, including the military types, loved it. A few girls took off their clothes and put on these panties and girly T’s that we have with our logo on them, and started making out with one another. It was like all these people became instant fans.”

Songs from Mouth to Mouth’s debut CD/DVD combo “My Fee Is Lust” are available via iTunes.
