British Ballads, Papal Poem, Americana in Digital Download: New, Spoken "Shorts" for Economical Gift-Giving

Mount Laurel, NJ, December 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- If you need gift-giving ideas at $10 or less, or would like to try some short, spoken poems in your personal music mixes, Groark Audio has a solution: the audio publisher announces the release of four new sets of spoken poems available in digital download and MP3 CD formats, with free PDFs of the texts, at www.groarkaudio.com.

· Three Ballads from Britain: Barbara Allen, Tam Lin, Mary Hamilton – Teenaged protagonists make things happen, in incidents from centuries ago that still resonate today. “I’ve heard these narrative poems sung, even by today’s singers, but they often leave out so much of the story because of length that we get a choppy sequence of events, and we don’t know what the heck is really going on. I appreciate hearing the whole story in a spoken version. I’ll even appreciate the sung versions more now,” says publisher Barbara Groark. Singles also available. American accent.

· The Face on the Barroom Floor – “This one is personal,” says the publisher. “You’ll hear why in the short audio introduction spoken by me. It is dedicated to my teetotalling grandfather, now deceased.“ This bit of American melodrama circa 1910 presents the sad story of an artist unlucky in love and driven to drink.

· The Quarry – One of the more secular poems of Karol Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II), it is a work praising physical labor and the maturity and sense of self it brings to the laborer.

· Prayer to Saint Michael/ Saint Patrick’s Breastplate – Poems for warriors of all kinds, this one short and one longer poem will “purge pity and fear” from the hearts of those engaged in inner and outer moral struggles.

The Groark Audio backlist also includes some new formatting:

· On the Subway: Poetry by Kurt Boone – This 1-hour compilation of short impressions describes life today as a foot messenger in New York City. The Monster Track single, dedicated to bike messengers, is also available. Some music.

· Psalms for Leaders: Psalms Across the Universe, Vol. 3 – Sixteen psalms (NRSV) in album form, designed to inspire meditation and action for leaders of all kinds. The individual psalms are also available as singles. With music.

Happy Holidays to you and yours from Groark Audio! www.groarkaudio.com
