)-- The Lake Oconee BassMasters fishing club is congratulating two of its members on making the Georgia B.A.S.S Federation Nation’s (GBFN) state team. Tony Beck of Social Circle and Carl Logan of Winder, GA both will be moving on to represent their local B.A.S.S. club and compete against several other states in the Southern Division Tournament.
The GBFN State Classic was held on November 20-21st at West Point Lake. Tony Beck finished in 2nd place and Carl Logan finished in 4th out of a field of 96 fishermen. Tony Beck also had the Big Fish of the tournament, weighing 8.1 lbs. “We are extremely proud of these two guys. It is a really competitive field and to have two of our club members finish in the top 4, really speaks to the quality of our local chapter”, says George Grantham, President of the Lake Oconee BassMasters.
About the Lake Oconee BassMasters
Our Club is located out of Lake Oconee, in Eatonton, GA. We are a non-profit organization which promotes the sport of fishing with a friendly competitive atmosphere. The Club meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm at the Peoples Bank in Eatonton, GA. Tournaments are held monthly at area Lakes, usually within in a 1.5 hour drive. The tournaments are a draw format, pairing up a boater and a non-boater. Each team member is allowed a 5 fish limit which will be weighed individually and the top three places are recognized. We also recognize the Big Fish of each tournament. The club is always accepting boaters and non-boaters into the club. The club web site is www.oconeebassmasters.org.
