Award-Winning Poet Visits Borders at Hilton Head for a Seasonal Book Reading/Signing Event

On Sunday, December 20th, 2009, children's author Cynthia Gustavson will perform a special book reading for children and adults at the Borders on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

New York, NY, December 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Cynthia Gustavson, the award-winning poet and psychotherapist from Tulsa, Oklahoma who has been heard on Sound Authors radio, will be making a special visit to the Borders Books at the mall on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. There, she'll treat children and adults to a reading of her newest children's book, 'Ballad of the Rag Man' (Blooming Twig Books, NY, 2009). Visitors will also have the chance to get a signed copy of her book when they see her. The reading will be on Sunday, December 12, 2009, from 12pm to 2pm at Borders Books (24 Shelter Cove Lane, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29928).

Illustrated by Kristina Tosic with brilliant coloring and imagery, 'Ballad of the Rag Man' is a kids' book which was primarily written for elementary-aged children. However, its message is powerful for teenagers and adults as well. Gustavson's vision is to create greater harmony in a country with more than 300 million residents by teaching children tolerance and understanding when it comes to dealing with people who are different from them. 'Ballad of the Rag Man' and the associated program, The Rag Man Project (http://www.ragmanproject.com), offer crucial methods that every parent, teacher and even grandparent can use to raise children who will excel in an environment with anyone, and who understand how important it is to protect our world by reducing, reusing and recycling.

The Rag Man Project website developed for 'Ballad of the Rag Man' (http://www.ragmanproject.com) includes Free parent/teacher curriculum for the book, and a national writing contest and video contest for children and adults.

Gustavson, who has been a guest on Sound Authors radio, is a poetry editor for Nimrod, and author of the six workbooks in the 'In-Versing Your Life' series (Blooming Twig Books, NY, 2006) which use poetry for self-discovery and healing. Blooming Twig Books (http://www.bloomingtwigbooks.com) publishes approximately ten titles per year, and represents them nationally and internationally. Its exclusive distributor in the United States and Canada is Cardinal Publishers Group.
