15-Year NFL Veteran, Author and Entrepreneur Kendall Gammon Joins Career Athletes Advisory Board

Gammon Joins Team of Former Athletes, Coaches and Executives in Mission to Provide Career Education to All Current and Alumni College Athletes

Kansas City, MO, December 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Career Athletes, the leading career education and resource provider for graduating and alumni collegiate athletes, is excited to announce that Kendall Gammon has joined its advisory board. Gammon, a Super Bowl veteran and the first long snapper ever sent to the Pro Bowl, brings unique insight to Career Athletes and its mission of preparing current and former student-athletes as they transition from competitive athletics to the working world.

"The chance to help advise a company and concept that helps pave a path of success for so many associated is very humbling,” said Kendall Gammon, Advisory Board Member, Career Athletes. "With Career Athlete’s unique approach to the student-athlete and the qualities that are developed within that student-athlete, it is no surprise to me that universities and companies all around the country are eager to partner with them.”

A big part of Kendall’s role will be helping to draw attention to the challenges facing thousands of former college athletes who never have the opportunity to turn professional. Rather than ignore this population, Career Athletes’ goal is to connect these athletes via CareerAthletes.com, a site at which they have access to career education resources, alumni mentors, career opportunities and access to potential employers looking for former athlete job candidates.

"Kendall embodies the spirit of Career Athletes because he is so much more than a former athlete," said Chris Smith, CEO of Career Athletes. "He’s an entrepreneur, an author, a philanthropist – he knows there’s life after sports and we’re thrilled that he’s chosen to work with us to deliver that message.”
