Lawton, OK, December 16, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- Come, be a Picasso and paint a bowl for Food 4 Kids
There is an artist inside everyone – let that inner artist out! A Pigment of Your Imagination, L.L.C. Pottery Painting & Creativity Studio, located at 10 NW Sheridan Road, along with Magic 95 and O.K.I.E. Magazine is inviting the community to come and paint soup bowls for its Second Annual No More Empty Bowls event in January. This is a fun project that everyone in the community can be involved. Between now and January 13, 2010 come to A Pigment of Your Imagination, and paint a soup bowl for $8.00. A Pigment of Your Imagination, L.L.C. will donate all paint supplies, glazing and firing fees for the event. This is a wonderful way for individuals, family, friends, schools, church groups and even businesses to enjoy a relaxing creative time while providing a community benefit. “Absolutely no artistic experience is necessary” said owner Charlotte Mortensen. “We have stamps, stencils, idea books, everything you need to complete your project.”
The Second Annual No More Empty Bowls luncheon will take place on Saturday, January 16, 2009 at A Pigment of Your Imagination, from 11:00am – 2:00pm. The community is invited to attend the luncheon for a donation of $10 dollars or more per person. Everyone attending will receive a ceramic bowl hand painted locally by the community, filled with soup and served with bread. All who attend will take home a bowl as a reminder that they helped to lessen a child’s hunger with their donation. The donated money will go to the Lawton Food 4 Kids program to benefit Lawton area elementary school children. This program, through the Food Bank, supplies and delivers pre-assembled food sacks and backpacks to participating elementary schools at no cost to the school.
School personnel identify children who are chronically hungry and send food home with them in a backpack. Owner Charlotte Mortensen is excited to be able to use her own business as a venue to help reach a goal of raising money to benefit Lawton schoolchildren.
