“The Power of Blessing” on “Why Shamanism Now?” Radio Show with Shaman Christina Pratt on December 30

On her radio show "Why Shamanism Now? A Practical Path to Authenticity,” teacher, author, and founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing Christina Pratt talks about blessings this holiday season – what they are, how they work, and how they strengthen and empower us.

Portland, OR, December 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Streaming live on the Voice America Network (www.voiceamerica.com) on Wednesday, December 30, at 2 p.m. Pacific time/5 p.m. Eastern time, on her show "Why Shamanism Now?: A Practical Path to Authenticity,” shaman and founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing Christina Pratt explains, “Blessings strengthen us, subtly or powerfully depending on the person giving the blessing and the strength of the blessing itself. What is important to notice is that the act of Blessing another strengthens both the one receiving the blessing and the one offering it.”

In this episode of “Why Shamanism Now?” titled “The Power of Blessing”, Pratt explores the lost art of Blessings. Blessings can empower us, bring us back into right relationship with ourselves, or protect us. Pratt asks the question: What is a blessing and what makes it strong? According to Pratt, Blessings can be a formal, complex ritual process or a simple act of love, like calling on the spirits of the family totem to protect a child as she leaves for school. Blessings call on energies of the invisible world, like elementals, nature spirits, and angels, and ask for their participation in our lives in specific ways. Pratt tells listeners that, whether simple or grand, our Blessings are most powerful when they are an expression of a deep relationship we have already cultivated with spirit.

Christina Pratt is an authentic, non-traditional contemporary shaman. In practice since 1990, she specializes in mending the soul and transforming the parts of life that feel impossible. A teacher of exceptional clarity, humor, and inspiration, Pratt brings the power of shamanism into the practical grasp of anyone willing to take responsibility for improving the quality of their life. Her well-received book, An Encyclopedia of Shamanism (Rosen), is an 800 page, two-volume set with over 750 in-depth entries that clearly discuss the basic concepts of shamanism, methods, and traditions of over 50 different shamanic peoples.
