Corona Clipper Makes a Difference on National Public Lands Day

Corona, CA, December 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- As a leading manufacturer of professional and consumer tools, Corona Clipper has a longstanding commitment to community improvement throughout the United States. On September 26, 2009, Corona demonstrated this commitment by donating a variety of shovels, pruners, loppers and rakes to the Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area near Irwindale, California. The donation was made in honor of National Public Lands Day, the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy.

Held annually since 1994, National Public Lands Day has three primary purposes—to educate Americans about critical environmental and natural resources issues and the need for shared stewardship of these valued, irreplaceable lands; to build partnerships between the public sector and the local community based upon mutual interests in the enhancement and restoration of America's public lands; and to improve public lands for outdoor recreation, with volunteers assisting land managers in hands-on work. According to John Norcia, park superintendent at the Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area, Corona tools helped his volunteers make a positive impact.

“We had over 100 volunteers that day along ranging in ages from 10 to 60,” Norcia said. “We planted over 200 native sage plants and trimmed around the nature center area. Corona’s tools proved invaluable, especially when we were digging massive amounts of holes in the sandy loam soil mixed with a tremendous amount of river rock.”

Jim Wolf, vice president of marketing for Corona Clipper, believes that championing worthy causes like National Public Lands Day reflects Corona’s longstanding emphasis on quality and durability. “At Corona, we’ve always strived to design and manufacture tools that will last for a lifetime,” Wolf explained. “It seems only fitting that our tools be used to improve and restore our nation’s parks so that they can continue to provide Americans with beauty and recreation for generations to come.”

Available throughout the United States and Canada, Corona’s tools are backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
