Los Angeles, CA, December 30, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- Cobra Starship guitarist Ryland Blackinton is the latest musician to contribute a sketch to the Pennyroyal Signature Collection to benefit MusiCaresÒ. The hand crafted sterling silver pendant was created using Blackinton’s exact sketch of Cobra Starship’s traveling camera guy, Jack… or “Jack, the camera guy” as he is affectionately known among fans.
"I drew Jack Edinger, our camera guy, because he was looking particularly handsome one afternoon," Blackinton said.
Cobra Starship’s “Jack, The Camera Guy” sketch pendant will be available for exactly 7 days starting on Jan. 4 and ending Jan. 10, after which the pendant will be officially retired and never sold again. The pendant can be purchased for $150 at www.pennyroyalsilver.com and will come with a guitar pick, collectors card featuring the original sketch design, a quote and Ryland’s hand-written initials. Proceeds will benefit The MusiCares Foundation which offers assistance to music people in times of medical, financial and personal crises.
American Alternative Dance band Cobra Starship was formed by former Midtown bassist and lead vocalist Gabe Saporta and includes guitarist Ryland Blackinton, bassist Alex Suarez, drummer Nate Novarro, and Victoria Asher on keytar, all of whom provide backing vocals. The band’s recent hit “Good Girls Go Bad” features Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester.
About Pennyroyal Silver: Pennyroyal’s owner and designer, Tim Foster, a music industry veteran-turned jewelry designer, created the Pennyroyal Signature Collection to give back to the musicians who inspire his hand-crafted jewelry designs. Foster says, “Music has always been my passion and without it, I wouldn’t be designing jewelry. This is my way of saying Thank You to all the people who make our lives better with music.” In addition to the Signature Collection, Pennyroyal has a full line of limited edition designs and can create custom designs specific to any customer request. Other artists who have contributed sketch designs to the Pennyroyal Signature Collection include actor/musician Jack Black and American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert. The project raised over $33,000 for MusiCaresÒ in 2009 and Pennyroyal is currently filling the 2010 calendar with sketch designs by a wide range of artists including pop singers, Hip Hop moguls, rock legends and beyond.
