Safe Site Awareness...You are Somebody

Youth Crisis Network® is a 501(3)c non-profit organization whose goal is to spread awareness about the “safe sites” programs in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads areas during the National Runaway Month.

Norfolk, VA, October 18, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Youth Crisis Network® announced today it will partner with local organizations and participate in the 2007 National Run Away Awareness, Safety, and Education Month to showcase its commitment to our youth by promoting their Safe Sites as well as safety education and training. This year’s theme, “You ARE Somebody,” focuses on the importance of boosting one’s self esteem and dignity regardless of race, color, creed, religion, financial background, or sex.

This annual Safe Sites campaign strives to: build awareness of the increase of runaways and to heighten awareness the Safe Sites and what they’re all about. Safety, Protection, and Confidentiality are honored at Youth Crisis Network.

“We are excited about participating in this great promotion that will help integrate our purpose and mission and obligation to our youth,” said Youth Crisis Network®’s Board of Directors, Chairwoman, and Officer of Youth Crisis Network®. “Americans are aware of the increase of runaways. As a matter of fact, the age groups of runaways are getting younger and younger. Why? If we don’t learn to communicate with our next generation, I’m afraid their mind, bodies, and souls would soon become extinct. By promoting awareness of Youth Crisis Network®’s Safe Sites, we will have the opportunity to highlight what we are doing in the community and by also helping to educate our public on how we, as one, can help combat this catastrophic epidemic.”
