Great House Design Distributes Gifts to Homeless Teenagers for the Holidays

Spokane, WA, January 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Great House Design, a Custom and Stock House Plan Business located near Spokane, Washington, pitched in to help out Santa and local homeless teens for the holidays. The owners at Great House Design, Glen & Donna Hyman, carried out their beloved Christmas tradition of shopping for gifts and delivering them to Crosswalk, a local Volunteers of America organization that shelters, feeds, and mentor homeless teens.

"This is our favorite part of the holidays," said Glen Hyman, who, with his staff, went to a local store & hand selected gifts for the teenagers who would be otherwise living on the street. "We always assume that the teens will need warm clothes," said Donna Hyman, Co-owner, "So a lot of what we select is geared for winter comfort, such as scarves, gloves, socks, & sweatshirts. But we also like to furnish craft projects, such as knitting supplies, to help stimulate creativity and pass the time."

Once the gifts are selected, the staff of Great House Design hand delivers sack loads of gifts to the shelter.

Other philanthropic projects by Great House Design include creating and donating the design of the new addition at Our Place, another local charity which serves the homeless and low income population by providing a food bank, clothing bank, and on-site laundry facilities, and advocacy among other services.

"Helping people with housing issues is my passion!" declares Glen Hyman.
