Wave Energy Drink Kicks Off 2010 Pro Angling Tour

Wave Energy Drink-sponsored professional angler, David Cooke, kicks off his 2010 season with the hopes of qualifying for the prestigious Bassmaster Elite Division.

Mooresville, NC, January 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Wave Energy Drink sponsored angler, David Cooke, will kick off his 2010 professional fishing campaign in the next weekend at Lake Okeechobee, Florida. 2010 will mark the second straight year that Wave Energy Drink has sponsored the 39-year old native from their same hometown of Mooresville, NC.

Next weekend’s event, the Southern Open, begins on Thursday, January 14th with the traditional boat launchings and lasts through Saturday, January 16th, with the final weigh-in beginning at 3 p.m. ET. Tournament officials expect over 200 entrants to compete for the grand prize of $50,000. The address for the tournament is C. Scott Driver Park, located at 2800 NE 10th Trail, Okeechobee, FL. All activities are free and open to the public.

David Cooke is set to launch his brand-new, Wave Energy Drink decal-wrapped Ranger Z-520 Boat for four days of practice this weekend. At stake is a season-long battle to finish in the top-10 in the point standings. Those finishing in the top-10 are awarded a chance to participate on the prestigious Bassmaster Tour and Bassmaster Elite Division. Aside from “catching the big one”, it’s every angler’s goal.
