The Institute for Church Safety and Risk Management (ICSARM) Appoints Financial Expert to Advisory Board

The Institute for Church Safety and Risk Management, LLC (ICSARM) is pleased to announce that Chester L. (Chet) Reid has agreed to serve on the ICSARM Advisory Board effective immediately.

Tupelo, MS, January 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Chet recently co-founded and launched Eagle Ledge Foundation, Inc. a California nonprofit religious Corporation, and Eagle Ledge Capital, LLC. a for-profit securities broker dealer. He has twenty-nine years of experience working with churches and individuals as a church finance consultant, financial planner, and pastor.

Chet provides special emphasis in evaluating a church’s current giving, potential capital gift fund raising and borrowing capacity. He is particularly interested in assisting churches avoid excessive borrowing, so as to not hinder ministry objectives. Chet personally enjoys developing biblical stewards. He has been responsible for delivering over $1 billion in church financing to small congregations, and some of America's fastest-growing mega churches. Chet recently oversaw the management of $363 million of retail and institutional brokerage client accounts, and assisted in providing $25 million in gifts to Christian charities.

Immediately following his service in the United States Air Force, Chet pursued a seven year agricultural business in beekeeping. During that time he was ordained as a minister and finished his business degree at California State University, Fresno, California. Upon accepting his first associate pastor role, he soon completed his Masters Degree in Church Administration at the California Graduate School of Theology, Glendale, California. Four years later he became a senior pastor in California's Central Valley. In total he served 11 years in pastoral roles. Then, the California Baptist Foundation invited him to join their church finance division staff. Shortly thereafter Chester became a vice president of the California Baptist Foundation, and president of Strongtower Financial, Inc., where he served over 17 years.

During his last 17 years he had the privilege of seeing a number of gratifying objectives met. The firm's staff grew from less than 10 to over 80, and lending production from $20 million to over several hundred million annually. He was instrumental in seeing a mutual fund launched that invests only in church bonds and loans. This was the first and only mutual fund in the United States investing in this asset class. That same mutual fund recently had a five star Morning Star rating, and received the reward as the best long-term bond fund in America in 2008. He has also overseen the development and management of two loan funds that were responsible for over $500 million in direct lending to churches.

Chet obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agribusiness from California State University Fresno, in Fresno, California. He then went on to receive his Masters in Church Administration from California Graduate School of Theology in Glendale, California. Chet also has a Doctorate of Business Development from California Baptist University in Riverside, California.

Chet is a member in good standing at Copper Springs Church in Clovis, CA where he serves as the church business administrator and also teaches a bible fellowship group weekly.

Chester and his wife Terry have been married for 38 years, and have two children and three grandchildren. They currently resides in Clovis California.
