Orlando Film "Crockdale" Beats Recession to Finish Production- Represented by FTS

Despite economy troubles, Indie film continues to wrap up production in Central Florida

Orlando, FL, January 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Despite a suffering economy that affects all industries, including film production; the Orlando based independent film “Crockdale” has finished production and will be hitting the film circuit en route to eventual distribution.

Directed by D. Aaron Hunter and starring Lauren Gower, “Crockdale” has had to deal with the same economic conditions that have affected so many other Central Floridians. The cast and crew consisting entirely of local talent have had to make sacrifices to ensure completion of the film. Budget cuts, supply cost increases, and circumstances involving employment of the crew have been just some of the hurdles this film has had to overcome. Hunter, who is also the executive producer on the film, has had to remain patient and find solutions during production. “We don’t have a James Cameron budget, or even the backing that a lot of other Independent films can find. We are using quality equipment, a hard working crew and an extremely talented cast to make “Crockdale” a successful reality.

Crockdale is a place that seems to only exist in movies, but for some people it is their “everyday”. Sarah Fiction never really got to know her Father before he was taken away from her in a horrible accident. Her Mom, who makes a living through ebay, tries to do her best as a single Mom while dealing with her daughter’s constant troubles. Hunter, Sarah’s best friend, dreams of being a big filmmaker, but can never seem to execute a plan without “relaxing himself” first. Finally, there is Crockdale High School; a place where Sarah is constantly tormented by fellow classmate Brooke, a “homophobic” English teacher and a Principal that may (or may not be) Wiccan. Before Sarah can live a normal teenage life, she has to deal with a veteran Detective, figure out why mysterious Hum-V’s keep parking outside her house and what her Dad’s connection was to the random missing children of West Crockdale…it’s amazing what we learn in only 4 days.

Hunter goes on to add “It hasn’t been easy, but when I see it on the big screen, it all will have been worth it”.
