The Animal Rescue Site Commits $300,000 to Shelter+ Challenges with Petfinder.com

Seattle, WA, January 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Following the success of The Animal Rescue Site’s Shelter+ Challenges with Petfinder.com in 2009, which gave $200,000 to shelter groups selected by visitor votes, The Animal Rescue Site CEO Tim Kunin announced today that $300,000 will be rewarded to shelters and animal rescue organizations through this innovative program in 2010. Once again, visitors to The Animal Rescue Site will decide which organizations receive these grants.

“Visitors to our site always have generously given of their time to click and vote to support animal rescue work,” said Kunin. “The campaigns run by various rescue organizations and shelters to win votes and secure grants has helped raise awareness of their needs throughout the United States, Canada, and other areas where the groups in the Petfinder.com Network operate.”

The Animal Rescue Site will hold three $100,000 Shelter+ Challenges in 2010: the first Challenge begins on January 18. Members of the Petfinder.com Network of shelters and animal rescue organizations are eligible to win 85 grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.
