Hip Hop Kidz Renowned Cast Crew Open for Award Winning LA Based Groovaloo

Led by founder and director Suzy Stone, the energetic Hip Hop Kidz dance group has been entertaining crowds at charity events, ballgames, music videos and almost every venue imaginable for almost 20 years. In January 2010, the top level Hip Hop Kidz Cast Class opened a Fort Lauderdale show at The Parker Playhouse for the award winning, Los Angeles based Groovaloos dance troupe.

Weston, FL, January 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Hip Hop Kidz are no strangers to performing. The top level performing troupes (Performance, Production and the top level Cast Class), can be found many weekends out in the community dancing at sporting and charity events. At a recent performance, a representative of the renowned Groovaloos, was so impressed by the Hip Hop Kidz Cast Class that the she invited the group to open for the Groovaloos when they were scheduled to perform in Fort Lauderdale. On Saturday evening, January 16, the Hip Hop Kidz Cast Class performed their “Transformer” routine (choreographed by Tim Stevenson) to an enthusiastic crowd, warming up the audience before the Groovaloos took the stage.

Based in Los Angeles, the award winning Groovaloos were founded in 1999 and are a group of performers whose togetherness grew from a united love of freestyle and hip hop dance. Today, some of their individual resumes including dancing for the most famous dancers in the entertainment industry, including: Madonna, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Diana Ross, Usher, Beyonce, The Black Eyed Peas and many more. TV and film credits include Step Up 2 to America’s Best Dance Crew and commercial work from iPod to McDonalds.

The Groovaloos have gained recognition through special guest performances on So You Think You Can Dance, One Cubed, The Wayne Brady Show and The Ellen Show. Led by Director and President Suzy Stone, the Hip Hop Kidz mission statement is "No Drugs No Violence, Just Dance" and is a mantra Stone and her students live by. What began in 1990 as a small class with only seven kids, has now turned into a national phenomenon with over 500 students participating throughout Florida and in California. The Hip Hop Kidz dance program helps kids/teens build self esteem and gain worldwide exposure through their performances at performance venues not typical to the average dance school world.

Hip Hop Kidz students learn the hottest choreography to the freshest beats in a fun, creative, easy to follow atmosphere. Most Hip Hop Kidz students take classes for fun and fitness, but some aspire to more advanced levels including several performance troupes. Some former Hip Hop Kidz have become famous entertainers such as Cassie Scerbo of ABC Family’s hit show “Make It Or Break It” and Brandon Bryant of “So You Think You Can Dance.”

The three levels of Hip Hop Kidz performing troupes have performed locally including as halftime entertainment for the Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins as well as numerous local charity events including the annual Humane Society Walk for the Animals. Best Buddies and the NSU Nova Heartwalk. They have also danced at the MACY’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City and appeared as featured performers on the Today Show, CBS Early Show, The Tony Danza Show, BET, MTV and numerous videos and commercials. The group is scheduled to return to New York for the MACY’s parade in November 2010. The nation’s premier dance program, Hip Hop Kidz has also spawned its own full length movie, music CD and book series.

No Drugs, No Violence, Just Dance
Started almost 20 years ago by former National Aerobics Champion, Suzy Stone, Hip Hop Kidz has become a phenomenon. What began as a small Saturday morning class has turned into the award winning Hip Hop Kidz program. Today there are more than 500 kids, ages five years to 18, taking Hip Hop Kidz classes in Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, St. Augustine, Florida and Santa Barbara, California.
