Fiamme Restaurant & Bar’s Tagalong® Cookie Cake Wins Rave Reviews at the Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast Cookie Bake-off

Owner of establishments, Liz Beddow, and Fiamme Executive Chef Bob Barber were tapped as judges for the Mother-Daughter phase of the competition.

Thousand Oaks, CA, January 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In an exciting showdown, Liz Beddow, owner of The Melting Pot, Thousand Oaks, and Fiamme Restaurant & Bar came out a winner with her Trefoil Cannoli Cookies Dipped in The Melting Pot Chocolate at the Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast Cookie Bake-off and Auction. Just nudging out colleague and rival Fiamme Restaurant & Bar’s Executive Chef Bob Barber’s Tagalong® Cookie Cake, Ms. Beddow beat out seven chefs from the area’s finest restaurants, before being tapped to judge the Mother-Daughter portion of the competition. Chef Barber was also asked to serve as a judge for this event.

“I am so excited to have won this amazing event and to have helped raise funds to support Girl Scout programs,” said Fiamme Restaurant & Bar proprietor Liz Beddow. “The creativity and unique use of Girl Scout cookies in a wide range of desserts was truly impressive. I honestly felt that many of the Mother-Daughter creations rivaled those of the professional chefs. I am already planning for the 2011 competition.”

Fiamme’s Chef Barber created his Tagalong Cookie Cake recipe using Tagalongs or Peanut Butter Patties®, round cookies with a layer of peanut butter on top, and covered in chocolate. The winning recipe created by Ms. Beddow used Trefoils or Shortbread cookies that are shaped like the Girl Scout Trefoil design. Her recipe follows:
