Exposure Concert Announced at Club Paradise: Lashing Out Against Domestic Violence

Domestic violence victim turned advocate strikes again against domestic violence and abuse, this time to the tune of local musicians. In an all ages, all day concert to promote peace and raise awareness and intervention for domestic abuse, bands unite and will perform at Club Paradise August 14, 2010.

Blasdell, NY, February 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Exposure concert announced – promoting peace thru music

Suzanne Perry, President of On A Dime Installations, strikes again and strikes back against domestic violence. On January 4, 2010, the first business day of the new decade, she announced her new ventures to promote peace and unity: the “OP Music House & ICE Café.”

The power of expression and peace through music will be fine-tuned and live on Saturday, August 14, 2010 as Club Paradise hosts a very special event. “The OP Music House & ICE Café’s EXPOSURE Concert: because it’s not okay.” The EXPOSURE concert has a double purpose: Local musicians gain exposure, while raising awareness of domestic violence, believing that if the abusers are exposed, they won’t abuse.

Tickets are not yet available but will be a very affordable $10 pre-sale, $12 day-of, with proceeds benefiting the non-profit OP Music House; a music venue and recording studio for young adults. Funds will be applied to secure a facility, purchase equipment, a hotline number for abuse victims, legal fees and staff appointment.

After being announced only on its Facebook profile Sunday evening, Monday afternoon the event already has confirmation of nine acts and thirty-three guests.

Because venues and bands are already creating their summer schedules, Perry wanted to plant the seed now in hopes to gain sponsors and draw more attention to domestic violence awareness and intervention. As a former abuse victim, now turned advocate, she is putting her passion to work.

All experienced local bands are encouraged to sign up for this all ages, all day affair. “If we get too many bands, we’ll make it into a two-day affair! The more, the merrier and to have this much support for such a very real, very prevalent and very sensitive cause truly rocks,” exclaims Perry. She expects to have several Buffalo Hall of Famers performing but says she will keep the website and Facebook updated to keep the public informed.

A calendar of events is on the OP Music House & ICE Café website. Perry will be “locked up” for Jerry’s Kids at Danny’s South on February 23 with a bail set at $1600 to raise money for muscular dystrophy.

March 6 Perry will have a booth in the Community Marketplace & Job Fair in the Orchard Park High School from 10am-5pm. This event is sponsored by the Orchard Park Chamber of Commerce.

A golf tournament is taking place May 23 at the Rosebrook Golf Club for the OP Music House, but some of the proceeds will be donated to Make-A-Wish.
