Brief Author Bio

Chamein Canton dreamed about weddings when she was a little girl.  But as she grew, it became evident that she would not blossom into the waifish runway model the fashion industry once promoted as the ideal woman.  She was curvy!  She was no less beautiful, but she still had a terrible time finding a wedding dress.  And she quickly found that the majority of women were just like her!

Since her wedding day, Chamein has overcome terrible challenges - including cancer and multiple sclerosis.  But none of this has dampened her love of weddings.  She created a business of her own as a wedding consultant for full-figured brides, and her popularity has been growing ever since.

Now for the first time, her experience, knowledge, and love for both weddings and helping beautiful women of all shapes and sizes are combined in her book, "Down that Aisle in Style -  A Wedding Guide for Full-Figured Women."

Ms. Canton writes regularly for Elegant Plus Models  and AmaZe Magazine.  If you would like her to contribute an article for your newspaper or magazine, she would be delighted to do so.  You can contact Chamein via the book's online media kit at: http://www.windriverpublishing.com/aisle.html

Feature Story Ideas

The Full-Figured Fashion Industry: For many years, the fashion industry ignored the fact that more than half of America’s women couldn’t wear the dresses companies advertised.  This is finally changing.  Pioneered by companies like Layne Bryant and Big and Tall, the full-figured fashion industry is finally seeing new clothing lines from major fashion manufacturers, including Jaclyn Smith and Eddie Bauer, and from new fashion designers, including Kiyonna and SVOBODA.

Tips for Full-Figured Brides: Selecting the perfect dress requires more than knowing your dress size and body shape.  Every aspect of your wedding gown either draws or deflects attention.  Necklines, sleeves, shoulders, waist, hemline, veil, and more contribute to how you are perceived by others.  Knowing how to design your dress to your advantage will help make you the main attraction on your wedding day.
