)-- On Monday 23rd October, the L. Ron Hubbard Foundation hosted the annual Gala Charity Concert at Saint Hill Manor, home of L. Ron Hubbard and headquarters for the Church of Scientology in UK. Top musicians and artists flew in especially to entertain an audience of 1,500.
The concert was attended by some 25 Mayors, Deputy Mayors, District Council Chairmen and Town Councillors, many from the South of England along with other guests coming from as far away as the United States. Actress Anne Archer hosted the star-studded cast of performers and musicians. The audience was entertained by recording artists Stacy Francis, Angelo Pagan, Elena Roggero and the UK’s top swing band – the Jive Aces.
Now in its 10th year, the Gala has supported numerous charities, from the Royal National Lifeboat Institute and the RSPCA to the National Drug Prevention Alliance and Sussex Ambulance Service. Local charities receiving this year’s awards were Friends of Crowborough Hospital; East Grinstead Sports Club Sports Academy, which gives youngsters the opportunity to learn sports and become more healthy and fit; and Whoopsadaisy, which helps disabled children in Brighton.
The Gala Concert concluded a four-day jam-packed weekend of activities at the Church of Scientology with over 6,000 people from the UK and around the world, which included thousands attending the opening of a brand new church in the City of London yesterday.
