2010 Tortoise and Finch Screenplay and Short Play Competitions Now Underway

Boston, MA, February 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Tortoise and Finch Productions, a Boston-based film and theater production company, is now accepting submissions for its 2010 Screenplay and Short Play Competitions.

The theme of the 2010 Screenplay Competition is "love."

The themes for the Short Play Competition are redemption, charity, or epiphany (all set during the holiday season).

The winning short plays will be fully produced as part of Tortoise and Finch's "Night of Holiday One-Acts" in November and December of 2011 in Boston, MA.

The late deadline for the 2010 screenplay competition is September 1, 2010. The late deadline for the 2010 Short Play competition is September 30, 2010.

The film's director/producer, Chloe McFeters, spent the last three years interviewing victims and survivors of domestic violence, as well as abusers, advocates, and experts in the field. She is very open about her personal connection to domestic abuse and gives regular talks and interviews on the subject.

Ms. McFeters is very excited about this year's screenplay and short play competitions, saying "We had a really successful run of 'The Last Five Years' last summer at The Factory Theater in Boston, and this year, in addition to the shows on our regular line up, we wanted to focus our attention on original works. My partner, Kevin, and I are looking forward to reviewing this year's submissions with our panel of judges."
