Reading Horizons as a Response to Intervention (RTI)

Salt Lake City, UT, February 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Reading Horizons has partnered with two new distributors: the Learning System of Oklahoma and UMA Education Solutions of Georgia. Reading Horizons established these partnerships in January to better provide its materials for many of the schools in Southern states that are struggling with their reading programs.

The Learning System will be distributing the Reading Horizons reading program in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. UMA Education Solutions will be distributing the program in Alabama and in parts of Georgia. The following article illustrates the current reading struggles found in Alabama: http://blog.al.com/birminghamentries/2009/11/alabama_students_struggle_to_r.html

To commence these partnerships, Berrett made presentations on the Reading Horizons program to over 100 school and district administrators. Berrett’s presentations focused on how the Reading Horizons program can assist the schools in the distributors’ regions to improve their reading scores through its success as a Response to Intervention (RTI). When asked how the attendees responded to the presentation, Berrett reported: “The response was overwhelming. One lady threw up her arms in the middle of my presentation and exclaimed: ‘Hallelujah!’”
