"The judges and I were stunned by the quality we saw in the more than 300 submissions we received for the latest installment of the annual Remarkable Photo Contest," says Tim Leffel, editor of Perceptive Travel. "Any of the 40 finalist photos would be suitable for publication in a major magazine and the three judges had a tough time picking the winners."

The three judges were professional travel photographers Steve Davey, Rick Sammon, and Terence Carter. Contest prizes were provided by Casio, Tifosi Optics, and PacSafe.
