Raleigh, NC, February 13, 2010 --(PR.com
)-- Rich Van Tassel, president of Royal Oaks Building Group, LLC (www.royaloaksbg.com), has announced that the company has received a Gold Award in the category of Building Industry Spirit at the 2010 NationalsSM Gala held at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas on Jan. 19. The award recognizes the originality, concept, and successful execution of a community service project or program. Royal Oaks Building Group received the award in recognition of “Operation: Coming Home,” a community service project run in conjunction with the Triangle Real Estate and Construction Veterans (TREACV). The company built and donated a home to Joey Bozik, a deserving veteran and triple-amputee who was injured while serving in Iraq. Started in early 2007, Operation: Coming Home works to build free homes for severely wounded veterans who served in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“We are honored to be recognized with an award in this category,” said Van Tassel. “We feel incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to give back to our veterans in such a significant way, as they continue to give to us. We would also like to thank all the volunteers, vendors and businesses that helped us with this project. We could not have done it without them.”
