The Lunar New Year and New Half Acre Day Songs

New song released every "new moon!"

Seattle, WA, February 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Lunar New Year will soon be upon us, ushering in the Year of the Tiger.

The tiger is optimistic, passionate and independent. Rebellious, dynamic, and unpredictable. Half Acre Day will be embracing this spirit over the next 12 months in their music.

The Lunar New Year happens to fall on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14th 2010 – the perfect day to fall in love with a new song. So starting on that date and each new moon to follow, Seattle band Half Acre Day will be digitally releasing one brand new song per month.

Another group of folks who are embracing the independent spirit are the creators of an independent, no-budget, feature-length, live action movie with vivid, intense, and marrow-vibrating visual effects and animations created with the open source software Blender (and other traditional software) and 250 (or so) worldwide volunteers - written and directed by a 21 y/o kid named Ian Hubert - It's called "Project London" - http://projectlondonmovie.com/ and is slated for a late Summer release.

Check out an interview with the director:

What's the link between the movie and the band? Several Half Acre Day songs (4-5) will be featured in the film. At least two of the songs coming out in the "new moon" series will be exclusive to the movie.

KEXP 90.3fm Seattle is already spinning "Skeletons" and a national radio campaign has begun.

Half Acre Day will have the song(s) available for download on their site, Amazon, iTunes, etc. as well as streaming on myspace.com/halfacreday starting on the 14th.

Like the moon, Half Acre Day will come out from behind the clouds and shine.
