San Diego Surf to China

American Basketball Association's San Diego Surf have accepted to play in the Chengdu International Basketball Invitational Games in China to play in early March.

San Diego, CA, February 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The San Diego Surf pro basketball team of the American Basketball Association has just announced their acceptance to play the Beijing Aoshen Basketball Club, also of the ABA, in the Chengdu International Basketball Invitational Games in Chengdu, China, Sichuan Province, March 6th and 7th. The team is scheduled to leave March 2.

Coach Mason of the Surf has a challenging task to beat the Beijing team, with a former L.A. Laker, Sun Yue, on board, who has won 7 of their 8 games played against U.S. teams this season. The Kentucky Bisons and Beijing split two games and Chicago Steam, Washington Raptors and West Virginia Blazers each lost two to Beijing. Mason believes that it’s about time for another victory for a U.S. team against the tough Beijing squad.

The Surf’s trip will include some sightseeing and a chance to experience the great Chinese food from the Sichuan Province, well known for its hot spicy menus. The players and coach are very excited to participate in this China tour and hope to come back with a victory. Follow the San Diego Surf basketball team online at SDSURFHoops.com for all the action.

The California Beach Ballers will be in town Sunday evening at 7:30pm to take on the Surf in the Hourglass Arena at Miramar College, 10440 Black Mountain Road. The China trip will round out the Surf’s 2009 – 2010 regular season play, leading to the playoffs.
