Flying Moose Call: Video Productionistas, “Creative Collaboration Increases Client ROI, Cuts Cost”

Creative collaboration (photography, video, and sound design) is an art in itself. Increasingly, cost-conscious clients ask to combine still and video shoots for their sales, marketing and training deliverables. Flying Moose Pictures are pros.

San Francisco, CA, February 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Creative collaboration between photography, video, and sound design; many people think they do it well, but the truth is it’s an art in itself. Increasingly, many cost-conscious clients ask to combine still and video shoots for their sales, marketing and training deliverables. Yet this task isn’t as easy as it may seem to a one-man band wannabe. Flying Moose Pictures knows technology is only as good as the hands it’s in.

Consistency, repeat. When merging still and video shoots there are many variables to consider; consistency of location, models, actors and lighting/look-feel. Joe Gibbs (gibbsphoto.com), still photog extraordinaire, has teamed with Flying Moose on multiple projects. They jumped in feet first to seal their partnership on the technically complex, demanding Micrus Endovascular (micrusendovascular.com) job.

“The marketing campaign unveiling the tiny MicroCoil, a brain aneurysm treatment technology, called for super fine, consistently lit, still shots and HD video to best illustrate the action of this mini tool inside the brain,” Gibbs explained, “I was very comfortable discussing the issues...with (Moose partner) Mark Leialoha because of his decades of still photo experience. We shared a common vocabulary.”

A Sound Process. Another important aspect to dynamic HD video is sound design. Buddy Saleman, creative lead at Potrero Post (potreropost.com), is a seasoned industry professional who’s teamed with the Moose to enhance video storytelling through musical scoring and sound design. When the two companies joined with collaborator and client/talent Deke McClelland they very quickly got their mettle tested.

Bi-weekly dekePods are fast-talking, hyper edgy videopodcasts (moosepix.com > Gallery) designed to entertain, educate and drive sales of Creative Suite guru Deke McClelland’s training books and DVDs. Saleman explained why it’s important to collaborate with the Moose early on in the process, “It allows me to consider the concept in the early stages and watch as it develops. I can compose and create sound design that tells the client’s story in the best way possible.”

Results. The heavily back-and-forth creative process resulted in over 250,000 YouTube downloads of ‘101 Photoshop Tips Video’ (total dekePod viewership was well over 1 million hits) — and was reflected in the soaring sales of Deke's training products -- strong proof of the value of collaboration.

Creative collaboration works for clients who want to show sales teams support, cut expenses, and increase awareness and ROI. “The highest return video production doesn’t happen in a vacuum,” said Moose partner Jonathan Luskin. “it happens with creative professionals who understand their crafts.”
Partner Mark Leialoha added, “...And who really serve the client’s needs and aims, first and foremost. Oh, and get it done while seeming to fade into the background unobtrusively..”
