Samurai Karate Studio to Hold Free Self Defense Workshop for Women

Samurai Karate Studio, located in Richland Northeast Columbia, SC; is hosting a Free self defense workshop for women on Saturday, February 27th at 1:00pm.

Columbia, SC, February 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Samurai Karate Studio, located in Richland Northeast Columbia, is hosting a Free self defense workshop for women on Saturday, February 27th at 1:00pm. The workshop is open to all adult women. Teenage girls as young as 13 years of age are invited, but must be accompanied by a parent.

The workshop will cover classroom work including domestic violence facts, 3 main reasons why women get assaulted, common attack indicators and common every day weapons.

There will also be a "hands on" training session that will include self defense tactics against chokes from the front and the rear, bear hugs and wrist grabs.

Sensei Feldt, owner and chief instructor commented, "My goal is to introduce self defense concepts that will allow the women attending this workshop to be better prepared in the event someone were to try and assault them."

Samurai Karate Studio teaches a traditional style of Japanese karate to children and adults, beginning at age 3.5 years and up. Its curriculum includes Diabetes awareness, acts of kindness peace education leadership, community service, anger management and environmental self defense.
