Televisions.com Reviews the Loewe Individual 46 Selection Full HD+ 100 TV

Web’s premier TV reviews and feedback platform has today published its review of the Loewe Individual 46 Selection Full HD+ 100, a 46 inch Full HD LCD TV available since summer 2008. The website also features background articles, latest TV news and reviews from leading experts and user feedback.

Edgware, United Kingdom, February 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The test team at Televisions.com leveraged their extensive expertise drawn from years of experience to use objective laboratory instruments and comprehensive subjective analysis in the testing of the Loewe Individual 46 Selection Full HD+ 100. The Loewe Individual 46 Selection gained an “Editor’s Rating” of 6 points on a scale of 10 and the review described the overall features of the television as a mixed bag. The test team was impressed because of the excellent sound quality rendered by the 46 incher and the integrated tuner that supports analogue TV, DVB-C and DVB-T. The list of flaws described by the review is larger with poor 24p material reproduction, confusing menu structure and poor detail in the analogue picture detail. Florian Friedrich, Televisions.com’s editor in chief opined: “The Loewe Individual 46 Selection Full HD+ 100 is an attempt at bringing together all the features and has a decent picture and outstanding sound.”

The review then goes on to candidly describe the positives and negatives of the television set. The Loewe Individual 46 Selection features very limited connectivity options which is just about justified as per the era in which it was released. But in comparison to modern day televisions, a single USB port providing image feedback of JPEG files does not suffice. Also the awkward placement of the USB port at the back of the TV set didn’t augur well with the test team. The electronic menu with fast channel changing and a clearly structured channel list provide a fluid interface but the rolling list style of the menu and the lack of presets make the everyday experience a little problematic. The remote control has a design similar to that of the TV set and has a comfortable weight. The combined tuner for analogue TV, DVB-C and DVB-T signals is a neat feature and Loewe also offers a separate digital satellite tuner for HD signals. The review states that the tuner supports Level 2.5 type Teletext and provides an Electronic Program Guide (EPG). With the high price tag, only two HDMI connections are not sufficient. The test team found the factory settings producing a garish picture which can be corrected through the controls which then lead to a decently sharp picture. With the exception of HDTV, all the other signals provide average picture quality with even digital picture suffering from judder during camera pans. The test team found that the TV applies a lot of overscan to interlaced 576i signals arriving via HDMI which leads to less crispness in the picture. The TV Reviews found to have major problems in reproducing 24p material. Also the contrast produces weak black in night time scenes. Only the daytime scenes are reproduced with perfection. The review lavishes praise on the excellent sound quality of the Loewe 46 incher which suffices even larger living rooms. The review then provides a set of ideal settings for the TV that were derived by the test team at the in-house test theatre for displaying HDTV/Blu-ray signal via an HDMI interface in darkened environments.

Friedrich said: “The Loewe Individual 46 Selection Full HD+ 100 is a decently good television set with excellent sound but top quality picture enthusiasts should steer clear of this TV.”
