The Art Institute of Jacksonville to Launch New Fashion & Retail Management Program

Beginning This Spring The Art Institute of Jacksonville Mixes Style & Class with New Fashion & Retail Management Degree Program

Jacksonville, FL, February 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Art Institute of Jacksonville is pleased to announce its newest Bachelor of Arts degree program - Fashion & Retail Management - to begin in April of 2010.

The Fashion & Retail Management program at The Art Institute of Jacksonville will offer bachelor’s level education across disciplines including business and design. This cross-functional focus will allow students to expand beyond traditional fashion and retail positions and choose among opportunities in manufacturing, retail management, buying and merchandising, fashion publicity, and even business ownership.

Complementing the fashion, retail, and business coursework, the general education programs emphasize strong written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills. Students will have an opportunity to receive a well-rounded foundation in general education to effectively prepare them for the business world. Students will also receive multiple opportunities to develop and cultivate real-world projects from concept to final product.

“Fashion & Retail Management is an exciting new offering for The Art Institute of Jacksonville,” said Brian Mazur, President of The Art Institute of Jacksonville. “Students can expect a hands-on, industry relevant experience in this unique program blending fashion and business,” added Mazur.

Graduates may begin their careers with a combination of knowledge applicable to the current fashion trends and business judgment, which will prepare them for successful futures in the fashion and retail management field. The Art Institute of Jacksonville’s Fashion & Retail Management graduates will be able to effectively work in entry-level positions with fashion designers, in retail and manufacturing markets, presenting themselves with knowledge, confidence, and, above all, creativity. This program also includes Internet and international components that respond to the rapidly changing world of retail.
