Touch to See the Doctor

The Virtual Specialistâ„¢ promises to make telemedicine ubiquitous.

Phoenix, AZ, March 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Interactive Multimedia Artists, Inc. (IMA) announces the Virtual Specialist™, a web-based software solution standardizing live video and data sharing between physicians, specialists and patients over existing PCs and IP networks. The Virtual Specialist™ enables medical visits to take place when and where they are needed without scheduling or travel. Placing a call to a specialist is initiated by touching (or clicking) the Virtual Specialist™ call button on a point-of-care PC which connects to a receptionists agent who in-turn transfers the call to the appropriate specialist. The Virtual Specialist™ delivers to the specialist’s PC― be they at hospital, office, home or mobile― a unified view of patient, EMR and diagnostic device feeds. If required, language and ASL interpreters can be conferenced into the session.

The heart of the Virtual Specialist™ is a software ACD (automatic call distributor) which switches and routes traffic between medical offices, elder care facilities, schools and homes. The Virtual Specialist™ provides a cost-effective solution that small and large medical networks can implement and completely integrate with existing IT while offering an elegant alternative to traditional telemedicine systems.

About IMA Interactive Multimedia Artists (IMA), based in Phoenix, AZ is co-developer of the Virtual Specialist™ telemedicine system.
