Anderson-Mcqueen Family Tribute Centers Supports the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life

St. Petersburg, FL, March 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Anderson-McQueen Family Tribute Centers has donated all net proceeds from their annual Tree of Memories event, $2,565.00, to the American Cancer Society in support of Relay for Life.

“The Trees of Memories event helps families remember their loved ones during the holiday season,” said Carole McCloud, Certified Bereavement Facilitator at Anderson-McQueen. “In addition to the complimentary angel provided by Anderson-McQueen, many attendees purchased a special commemorative angel ornament to benefit the American Cancer Society.”

“The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in community a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease”, said Angela McAuley, Suncoast Area Executive Director for the American Cancer Society, Florida Division. “We are very grateful for Anderson-McQueen to support such a worthy cause”.

At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length. There are 20 Relays scheduled in Pinellas County within the next few months. To participate or to find the nearest Relay log on to www.RelayForLife.org or call 1-800-227-2345 for additional info.
