Six Volt Joins Milk Rocks Tour

Local talent Six Volt, joins Milk Rocks tour to rock out and promote childhood health.

Red Bank, NJ, March 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Six Volt has partnered with Milk Rocks! to bring concerts to schools and Children’s Hospitals across the USA to help promote a healthy lifestyle and good nutrition with music. During the initial tour April 6th – 8th, Six Volt will be performing at six schools throughout Boston, MA and Portland, ME and a Children’s Hospital.

Milk Rocks! is a multifaceted, student-focused campaign that promotes the benefits of milk as a healthy alternative to sugar-based drinks. The marketing initiative was developed by New York-based MilkMedia, a pioneer in communicating with elementary, middle and high school students, and Memphis-based Evergreen Packaging, the nation’s largest producer of school milk cartons. Milk Rocks! stresses the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle and promotes drinking milk in paperboard packaging.

This high-profile effort to promote a healthy lifestyle among school-age children comes at a time when obesity in teens is at an all-time high. Currently, sugar-based drinks are being replaced with healthier beverages in schools across the country. Research has shown that schools can increase milk sales and consumption by up to 34% by providing colorful and interactive milk cartons, offering a variety of flavors, and incorporating some simple marketing.

Six Volt, a new tour band for Milk Rocks! is a band that is young, fresh and talented. The band plays & records all of their own music, every note. They are finishing their first album and looking to tour throughout 2010 and beyond. The band gives 5% of all of their income to charity.

Six Volt is very pleased to represent a product and cause they believe in. “We are proud to set a good example for kids across America by promoting music in an educational format and in a healthy way” they said.

In addition, premier guitar and banjo manufacturer Epiphone is a sponsorship partner in the campaign. The company provides custom Milk Rocks! guitars, which are presented to each school, and a Gibson tour bus for the bands’ travel during the Milk Rocks! concert tours.

June dates and cities to be announced.
