)-- West Hollywood-based Singer and Songwriter, Alina Smith, performing two original songs in a live broadcast Southern California “Battle of the Bands” contest on KTLA, Los Angeles independent TV station, swept viewer responses to achieve the top position.
The performances, on the KTLA Morning News - the second highest rated local morning television show – won praise from an on-air panel of judges. Sampling of comments:

Performing with Alina (lead vocals and piano) were her backing bandmates: Gerry Mattei (keyboards), Kirby Shaw (guitar and backing vocals), Kiel Feher (drums) and Jordan Lee (bass and backing vocals), under the supervision of veteran musical director Don Bogle.
"My current band has been together only a few weeks, so being chosen as the favorite from among hundreds of more established bands is certainly encouraging to all of us," said contest winner Alina.
Alina Smith and her band are performing at the Mint in LA on Wednesday, March 31, beginning at 7:00 PM, along with Will Champlin, Kandace Ferrel and Keaton Simons.
