)-- Sojourn Bicycling and Active Vacations is proud to partner with Terry Bicycles to offer a special Vermont bike tour in the Champlain Valley in August. Terry CEO, Liz Robert, recently moved their office and operations to Vermont, just down the road from Sojourn. Since Robert is an experienced Sojourn traveler the collaboration makes perfect sense.
Sojourn president, Susan Rand, adds that “Vermont has the distinction of being the state that brought the bicycle vacation concept to reality and in addition, the state is a haven for entrepreneurs. It makes perfect sense for Terry Bicycles to move to Vermont and we are very pleased they have chosen Sojourn to run their welcome bike trip here in Vermont.”
Sojourn specializes in extraordinary bike trips throughout North America. Destinations are artfully selected for breathtaking scenery, unique points of interest, fabulous cycling, and distinctive lodging. Over seventy percent of their travelers have either vacationed with the company previously or been referred by someone who has – a true testament to their level of quality and service.
The bike trip begins on August 19th and for four days will explore Lake Champlain Valley’s scenic countryside and renowned cycling routes. From lakeside lodging at the acclaimed Basin Harbor Club, guests will pedal the back roads that helped make Vermont one of the top destinations for bike trips. Sojourn specializes in Vermont bike tours in the Champlain Valley and is the only Vermont bike tour company based in this region.
Cyclists will ride through pastoral Vermont farmland before crossing Lake Champlain by private boat to disembark on the New York shore for a spectacular ride through the Adirondack Park. Guests will enjoy visits to historic landmarks and points of interest throughout the bike trip, and will also have the opportunity to ride alongside legendary Terry founder, Georgena Terry.
At the conclusion of the trip, guests will be invited to a private reception at Terry's new warehouse in Burlington, Vermont where they will have the opportunity to meet the staff, tour the facility and shop for cycling gear. Terry product designers will be on hand to answer questions and work with guests to address their cycling needs.
The tour is designed to accommodate cyclists of all levels. Daily route options will be offered for leisure cyclists as well as those seeking more challenging terrain and mileage. Two of Sojourn’s finest and most experienced leaders will be supporting guests throughout their bike trip in Vermont.
Tour Start/End: The Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes, Vermont. Thursday, August 19 through Sunday, August 22. Transportation to and from the airport in Burlington is included in the tour price for those who choose to travel by air. Parking is available at the Basin Harbor Club for the duration of the tour.
