Seminal Films Announces the Release of Modern Love

Los Angeles, CA, March 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Seminal Films is pleased to announce the release of Modern Love, a psychological drama about a family man afflicted by a radical personality change in an Australian coastal town.

John, his wife Emily, and their small son Edward leave the city for what they believe will be a brief foray to the countryside to claim John’s inheritance — a small shack. They find themselves in a strange back-woods rural setting. Nothing is what it seems, and John’s behavior becomes increasingly bizarre as he crosses paths with the unusual inhabitants of the area, some of whom he knows from a distant past. As his connections to the area are gradually revealed, we are shown a puzzle and a tapestry of our hero and his life before he moved away.

Variety says Modern Love “looks and feels like nothing else in the Australian genre catalogue.” Graeme Tuckett of the Dominion Post calls it “beautifully shot, stunningly sound tracked and written with a gentle malevolence that’ll stay with you for days after watching it.” The film was the winner of Best Non-European Feature at the European Independent Film Festival, as well as the Official Selection at the Moscow Film Festival, Bradford Film Fest, Adelaide Film Festival, Kansas Film Festival, São Paulo International Film Festival and the Fajr Festival in Iran.

Modern Love is produced by Sputnik Films and directed by Alex Frayne. It is executive produced by Rui Da Silva and Mathius Mack Gertz of Seminal Films. The film has a release date of April 6, 2010.
