Lake Oconee BassMasters Find Some Luck at Home

Eatonton, GA, March 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Bass Fishing has been incredibly tough the last few months on many of Georgia’s lakes and Lake Oconee has been no exception. The Lake Oconee BassMaster’s held their March tournament last weekend on Oconee, and despite the poor fishing reports, the club was able to produce some quality fish at the weigh in. Boats blasted off at safe light out of the Armor Bridge boat ramp Saturday morning. First place went to Scott Madden, who had 5 fish weighing 13.15 lbs. “Water temps were stable at 50 degrees and fish were active in shallow water around docks and rock sea walls” said Scott Madden, who rounded out his winning limit with a 5.2 lbs large mouth caught on a Texas rigged Zoom U-Vibe Speed worm. Second place went to Carl Logan with 10.98 lbs, who also landed the big fish of the day with a monster Bass weighing 6.11 lbs. Tony Beck finished third with 8.29 lbs. With the extreme cold weather in the past, the Lake Oconee BassMasters are looking forward to the improving conditions and better fishing over the next few months. The Club meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm at the Peoples Bank in Eatonton, GA. The next meeting is scheduled for April 7th. Tournaments are held monthly at area Lakes, usually within in a 1.5 hour drive. The club consists of both boaters and non-boaters.
