April is National STD Awareness Month; do You Know Your Status - Get Tested Today

April is national STD awareness month and in recognition of the month Your STD Help is teaming up with free and low cost clinics throughout the U.S. to get everyone tested.

Denver, CO, March 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Sexually transmitted diseases are a fairly large problem in America and although much is being done it’s just not enough. With over one quarter of young women between the ages of 14 and 19 infected with one or more of the many different STD’s we simply need to do more. “Education, having access to the proper tools such as condoms and routine testing is our number one weapons in curbing these statistics.” Said a spokes person from Your STD Help.

There are over 19 million new cases of STD infection every year in the U.S. but with symptoms not always noticeable people go on living with the disease possibly passing it along to another partner without being aware of their condition. That’s why regular testing for STD’s and HIV is so important as well as safe practices.

So in honor of National STD Awareness Month Your STD Help is urging everyone who is sexually active to get tested even though there are no symptoms present. On the site you can find a free clinic locator on the menu where you can search for clinics to get tested by state.
