Endeavor Telecom Staff Again a Force at the Annual ING Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon

Sixteen Endeavor team members completed ING Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon as part of the corporate health initiative.

Atlanta, GA, March 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Endeavor Telecom, The Telecom Truck Roll Company for carriers, service providers, VARs, and equipment manufacturers, is pleased to announce that 16 of its staff members completed the fourth annual ING Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday March 21st. The 2010 ING Georgia Marathon hosted 18,000 runners and over tens of thousands more total participants, utilizing its partnerships with several non-profit organizations and their fundraising activities to help promote the sport of running and attract new runners. The race's 26.2-mile and 13.1-mile courses began at Centennial Olympic Park in the heart of downtown, took runners throughout downtown Atlanta, as well as several historic districts and scenic neighborhoods, and concluded by CNN Center.

Running in the ING marathon and half marathon has become a tradition for Endeavor as this is the second year in which the company has sponsored its staff by fronting their entry fees and providing custom made Endeavor running jerseys for each participant. Last year Justin R. McLain, Endeavor’s CEO, issued a challenge to the staff whereby after 15 people signed up for the race he ran the full 26.2 mile marathon painted head-to-toe in Endeavor blue. McLain again ran the full marathon this year minus the paint, as it coincides with a corporate initiative dedicated to promoting healthier living to the staff. The bulletin board in Endeavor’s staff common room currently displays many insightful facts regarding common health problems facing Americans along with a plethora of tips that can help prevent these issues and promote a long and healthier life.

Also on display, is a chart that shows the Endeavor team’s weekly training mileage. During 16 weeks of training, the Endeavor team clocked in over 1,500 total miles. Also, several team members participated in a variety of local 5K and 10K fun runs while training for the marathon. Endeavor staffers Jennifer Baron, Melissa Blose, David Cardenas, David Carmichael, Craig Coogler, Allison Graham, Punit Gupta, Ernest Hatfield, Phillip Hargrove, Matt Howard, Jacki Kirsch, Eric Lindell, Andrew Schroer, Alex Sewell, and Spencer Smith all successfully trained for and completed the ING Half Marathon.

"Promoting an interest in staff health and physical activities like running has become an important part of our corporate culture; the ING has been the perfect local event to get the team motivated in this effort,” says Justin R. McLain. “I also have to acknowledge the hard work of Jacki Kirsch, a member of our administrative services department, who not only completed the half marathon with ‘Endeavor blue’ hair once again this year, but also organized everything with the marathon team and kept us motivated. I’m very proud of the team and the positive health improvements I am seeing made by many in the company as we all make it a priority to pursue a healthier, happier lifestyle.”
