Thousand Oaks Philharmonic Presents Chopin Project IV “His Loves and Romances”

Pre-concert dinner at Tuscany il Ristorante celebrates Chopin’s 200th birthday.

Thousand Oaks, CA, March 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Inspired by the International Chopin Piano Competition held in Warsaw, Poland, the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic will present the Chopin Project IV, April 24th at 7:30 p.m. at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Janet & Ray Scherr Forum Theater. Chopin Project IV is a performance event that celebrates the music of Chopin with a passionate piano concert and an intriguing multi-media presentation chronicling the composer’s many romances. A pre-concert dinner, to be held at Tuscany il Ristorante, will celebrate the composer’s 200th birthday.

The Chopin Project’s Ornela Ervin, Kyung Lee, Michael Preddy and Michael Glenn Williams will be joined by a special appearance of duo-piano guest artists Edward Francis and Mona Wu DeCesare. This one-of-a-kind multi-media event features surgeon/musician Michael Williams, M.D., narrating the story of Chopin’s romances with Dr. Wojciech Kocyan performing the voice of Chopin and actress Lynette Rintoul portraying the composer’s loves.

The pre-event dinner and festivities, beginning at 5:00 p.m., include a three course gourmet meal with wine and gratuity included for $50 per person. Tuscany il Ristorante is located at 968 S. Westlake Blvd, Suite 4, in Westlake Village, 91361. An original contemporary portrait of Chopin, by London-based artist Nazim, will be displayed at the dinner, and then auctioned during the concert.

Nazim's work captures the spirit and energy of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. His work is inspired by the performing arts, mythology, wildlife and the sporting world. Nazim was awarded Artist-In-Residence status by the Florence Trust in 1995.
