Double E Promotions Releases, "Heartbroken, Forsaken and Alone" a Never Released Hank Williams Sr. Song Lost for 35 Years

Nashville, TN, April 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Perry Edge, President of Double E Promotions, is proud to announce the addition of an uncut, unreleased national treasure to Double E’s compilation disk # 153. “Heartbroken, Forsaken and Alone”, Co written by Hank Williams Sr. and Glenn D. Tubb has been buried for 35 years at Acuff-Rose Publishing but now, after being uncovered and recorded by Jennifer Brantley, is being released exclusively by Double E Promotions. This song just could not be denied.

In 1958, Glenn D. Tubb, nephew of the late country legend, Ernest Tubb, was approached by Hank's first wife, Audrey, who told him that she had found an unfinished song lyric of Hank’s. She asked Glenn, who she knew was a big Hank fan, to finish the lyric and give it a Hank Williams style melody. Although Glenn was young at the time, he had already written songs for Johnny Cash, Kitty Wells, Ernest Tubb, Hawkshaw Hawkins, George Jones and others. Audrey chose Glenn because she knew he sang a lot of Hank's songs on his personal appearances and would probably come closer to finishing the song as Hank would have wanted. After successfully writing songs for Johnny Cash, George Jones, Bob Dylan, Tammy Wynette, Tennessee Ernie and many others, Glenn finally attempted to finish the song Hank had started many years earlier. In 1974, while living in Tucson, Arizona, Glenn completed and mailed the song to Acuff-Rose, Hank's publisher, along with a copy of the original hand written Hank Williams lyric. Acuff-Rose had the authenticity checked by a hand writing expert, who concluded that it was indeed Hank William's handwriting. In June of that same year, Fred Rose Music issued a publishing contract on the song, showing the writers as Hank Williams and Glenn D. Tubb. Audrey died in November of 1975, so Glenn never knew if she ever heard the finished product. Disagreements about what to do with the song, kept it shelved until now. Glen was finally able to gain control of the song and after a fateful, Nashville meeting in August of this year, asked rising country artist, Jennifer Brantley to record it. Jennifer is a talented artist, working her way to the top who has shared the stage with legendary acts like The Oak Ridge Boys, Tanya Tucker, Razzy Bailey and John Michael Montgomery to name a few. She has two Billboards World Songwriting honorable mention awards under her belt and has now signed with Double E Promotions to take her to the next level.
