Georgia's Lake Lanier Islands Resort Pays Tribute to the "New Age of Romance" by Debuting Three Exciting Outdoor Wedding Venues

Luxury Lakeside Resort Growing in Popularity as a Destination Wedding Site for Southern Brides and Grooms by Offering 20 Distinctive Ceremony and Reception Venues

Atlanta, GA, April 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Georgia’s most visited lakeside retreat, Lake Lanier Islands Resort is pleased to announce the debut of three exciting new outdoor wedding venues. Adding to a veritable cornucopia of current wedding sites throughout the resort, Spring 2010 marks the introduction of The Carriage House, The Venetian Pier, and PineIsle Pointe at Lanier. Following the wild popularity of Lake Lanier Islands Resort’s first outdoor venue, Legacy Pointe at Lanier – Resort owner, Virgil Williams, wished to expand on the open air wedding concept to better meet the needs of Southern brides and grooms. “We love weddings! There is always a sense of excitement throughout the resort whenever a ceremony is about to take place,” reveals Williams. “It’s a real privilege to play such an important role in their special day, and we are honored that they have chosen Lake Lanier Islands Resort as the site for their wedding.”

“In keeping with the Resort’s desire to introduce families throughout the Southeast to the New Generation of Lake Lanier Islands, we will continue to add special amenities all over the Islands in the coming years. This year, we are particularly thrilled about the debut of our new wedding venues,” explains Williams. “Each venue has a timeless ‘classic’ flair, but they lend themselves to a beautiful blank canvas where the bride and groom can create their own picture-perfect day. Our Resort Wedding Specialists work closely with each couple to help define and shape their dream wedding, but no two weddings are ever alike at Lake Lanier Islands Resort. Each has the distinctive ‘thumbprint’ of its bride – from traditional, to ornate, to utterly original. We believe that’s the New Age of Romance.”

The new Carriage House at Lanier is an enchanting semi-enclosed pavilion designed to evoke the feel of a 19th century coach house. The bride- and groom-to-be can exchange vows at a lovely lake view gazebo on the outdoor terrace, then dance the night away in the glow of a crackling fire in the pavilion’s striking stacked stone fireplace before being whisked away by a charming horse and carriage – the ideal way to begin any “happily ever after.”

The new Venetian Pier at Lanier is inspired by the same romantic notions that must have stirred the hearts and minds of early architects in Venice, Italy. A boardwalk leads from the shore to a majestic pier – sheltered by a billowing white tent. The bride and groom can take their vows with beautiful Lake Sidney Lanier as their backdrop, and then sail away into their future together on a whimsical Venetian gondola.

The new PineIsle Pointe at Lanier is perhaps one of the resorts most scenic venues. Providing panoramic views of both the lake and the immaculately manicured 18thfairway of the renowned PineIsle Golf Course, this stunning pavilion hearkens back to another era with its stacked stone columns, cedar-shingled siding, and carriage lamps with flickering gas flames. The lovely interior of this semi-enclosed pavilion features an expansive stacked stone hearth and room enough to accommodate a guest list of up to 200 people.

“We have received an unbelievable response to our new venues,” says Wedding Specialist, Celita Fritch. “They join a long list of favorite venues – our Grand and Plantation Ballrooms, our awesome outdoor site at Legacy Pointe and our fleet of yachts, as well as several additional new sites currently under construction, for a grand total of 20 exquisite wedding venues accommodating up to 450 guests. Everyone at Lake Lanier Islands Resort is very excited about all of the different rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception combinations we can create!” Lake Lanier Islands Resort, with its wide variety of accommodations and amenities, is also the perfect choice for a destination wedding – when the bride and groom don’t wish to limit their wedding to just one night, but extend it over an entire weekend. A dedicated team of Wedding Specialists is prepared to assist the bride and groom in planning their one-of-a-kind wedding experience.

“We recently hosted our first in series of Wedding Showcases here at the resort, where more than 50 wedding vendors – from florists, to photographers, to musicians, and more – were on hand to display their ‘wares’ and individual talents to a large group of engaged couples,” adds Wedding Specialist, Maureen Morris. “The couples were also treated to an exciting tour of our wedding venues and a tasty sampling from our reception menus.” Additional Wedding Showcases are planned for July 11 and November 14. Couples can reserve a spot for any one of these dates by calling Rebecca Henderson at (678) 318-2072 or by e-mailing their request to rhenderson@llimail.com.
