The Institute for Restorative Health Launches It’s New Weight Loss Program: the Healthiest Loser

The Healthiest Loser Start Date: June 1, 2010. Location: Greater Sacramento Area.

Sacramento, CA, May 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Institute for Restorative Health (IRH), located at 1460 Drew Avenue, Suite 300 in Davis, Ca, is honored to present the Healthiest Loser Competition. This revolutionary weight loss competition is unlike most diet competitions which rely on dangerous binge dieting programs to receive rapid weight loss. Instead, the participant uses a combination of research based holistic treatments to receive the weight loss they crave.

What is the Healthiest Loser competition all about?
Healthiest Loser isn’t your typical weight loss competition. It doesn’t require a life of salad eating or carb- counting. The Healthiest Loser competition touches all aspects of weight loss from choosing the right foods at the grocery store to reducing cravings through acupuncture. Fitness and activity are a part of the program as well, yet instead of spending hours at the gym, participants are given two short workouts a day to boost heart rate and build muscle.

Participants in the Healthiest Loser competition are treated as a whole person, with real needs, obstacles and challenges not necessary limited to realm of fitness. The Healthiest Loser competition is designed to educate, energize and encourage participants to set a goal and achieve it by becoming an active participant in their health.

What does the competition entail?
The first day of the Healthiest Loser competition begins at the grocery store. A shopping trip designed to educate participants on the fuel and essential nutrients to be incorporated into their diet over the following 12 weeks is an essential part of the process. Soon after, twice a day workouts begin to strengthen core muscles, followed by heath classes to help learn more about the body, food, the environment and the participant’s role in the process. Also included in the 12 week program are acupuncture treatments to reduce cravings, ergonomic and physical training to teach participants how to move effectively in their everyday lives, short cooking sessions to highlight ways to improve the efficiency of the body with quick, healthy meals as well as infrared sauna treatments to further detoxify your system.

Why does this method work?
IRH embraces the notion that once a client is endowed with education, self-empowerment and personal accountability for their life choices, they are on the road to successfully optimizing their health, function and quality of life.

Since IRH”s weight loss programs address more than simply food and fitness, participants are able to keep the weight off.

IRH’s weight loss programs have helped young athletes, competitive bikers and professional triathletes improve their performance by implementing cutting edge supplementation, nutrition protocols, detoxification and education on the efficiency of the body. After years of helping these high end athletes, these same practices were then applied to everyday individuals interested in losing weight and maximizing their health potential.

How can I be selected to compete in the Healthiest Loser competition?
IRH will select four participants meeting the criteria of moderately healthy, yet overweight individuals who are at risk to develop long term health problems.

After being selected as a Healthiest Loser Competitor, a medical clearance a physician is required. Throughout the 12 week competition, IRH will work to help you strengthen your body, your mind and provide the tools necessary for long term weight management. At the end of the 12 week contest period the participant with the healthiest lifestyle and the most potential to continue their success will be determined the Healthiest Loser. Judging will be done by the health professionals involved with the contestants throughout The Healthiest Loser competition, as well as votes made by the public on www.4irh.com.
